Job Title: Outbound Operations Manager

Mud Pie is currently seeking an Outbound Operations Manager to join our Distribution Management team. The Outbound Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely picking/shipping processes of all orders with maximum efficiency. The Outbound Operations Manager will plan, manage and maximize all inventory functions and implement effective coaching methods throughout the operations while maintaining Mud Pie’s policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask and have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as proficiency with MS Office and operations systems / software. It is imperative that the Outbound Operations Manager is data-driven and a strategic, critical thinker.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure continuous review and improvements of operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.  Oversee daily monitoring efforts to ensure productivity objectives meet company/departmental standards.
  • Conduct multiple data reports including labor reports, shipping reports, etc. as well as detailed quality log
  • Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues. 
  • Arrange daily/weekly meetings with staff as appropriate to review overall team/individual performance.
  • Confirm all shipping and picking deadlines and priority cut-off times are met.
  • Ensure process of tracking and maintaining productivity standards for each associate.
  • Control mis-ship and backorders and locating missing product as needed.    
  • Assist with strategy for new warehouse ventures.  
  • Require a “Tour Ready” and safe work area and securing building/operations at end of shift.
  • Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to track success and/or recurring problems.   
  • Authorize productivity tracking standards/assessments, supplies, and equipment needs.
  • Develop personnel to ensure appropriate back up/successors in all key positions. Coach and groom direct reports for excellence while documenting their progress and cross-training to provide adequate coverage in key areas.    
  • Provide oversight while evaluating employee performance, handle disciplinary issues and maintaining an environment of respect and accountability.  

Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in a Distribution or Manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background and proven track record of leadership training and development.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform excellent communication, supervisory and customer service skills.
  • Must possess a sense of urgency and have the ability to prioritize tasks and resources appropriately. 
  • Promote an environment conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority at all levels of the organization.

Job Title: Technical Designer

Mud Pie is currently seeking a Technical Designer to join our Baby and Fashion team! We are looking for detail-oriented and creative individuals to assist with the technical development process including reviewing and analyzing samples for fit, construction and overall quality. This is a great opportunity for newly graduates and entry-level candiadtes

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in building detailed technical packets utilizing designer flat sketches, tracking garment progress through all stages of the developmental lifecycle.
  • Communicate fit intent and construction to vendors through detailed fit comments, pattern diagrams, pattern corrections, and digital images.
  • Support Technical team in preparing samples and contributing in fit sessions, identifying potential production, quality, and costing issues and proactively making effective recommendations.
  • Assist in measuring and preparing all garments with accuracy before fit sessions.
  • Take fit notes and photos of samples during fit meetings.
  • Provide technical design support to cross functional teams on fit development.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining pattern blocks to achieve proper fit standards as needed.
  • Assist in transitioning Technical Packages into PLM system

Requirements:

  • Senior level in college working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or related field, or recent graduate of Fashion Design or related field.
  • Excellent organization and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong pattern-making skills a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft suite, PLM knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of technical design in women’s apparel and baby/kids apparel a plus
  • Knowledge of technical design grading

Job Title: Inventory Control and Quality Manager

Mud Pie is currently hiring an Inventory Control and Quality Manager to join our Distribution Management team. This individual will play a vital role in the distribution center and report directly to the Director of Distribution. The Inventory Control & Quality Control Manager will be responsible for key performance metrics and performing detailed analysis on processes impacting inventory integrity. We are seeking individuals to drive process improvements and have the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others in an effort to reduce shrink. Our ideal candidate must be resilient, a focused problem solver and self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a complex environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possess or gain expertise in key process paths and exception handling ensuring that process discipline is adhered to across all shifts and departments.
  • Measurement of quality & inventory transaction integrity accuracy while providing feedback to the operations
  • Partner with Area Managers in the communication of policies in accordance to standard work.
  • Coordinate maintenance and random counts in accordance to defined count strategies ensuring compliance and consistency with specified requirements.
  • Plan for & identify root causes of inventory deviation through cause & effect analysis.
  • Review & analysis of customer defect data with development of corresponding action plans to reduce defects
  • Lead & supervise a team of hourly associates in Inventory Control / Quality Assurance operations within the fulfillment center. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, & evaluation of the operation.
  • Candidate must be able to teach, educate and influence managers and associates on the importance of inventory control & quality assurance.
  • Optimizes storage requirements and modifies bin configuration to facilitate productive operations and maintain inventory integrity.
  • Work with all department managers to identify and understand key projects, initiatives and system enhancements
  • Work with loss prevention to establish, influence and adhere to loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper receiving through management of receiving man power, timely processing of inbound shipments, and forward thinking department planning.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or experience equivalent.
  • 3 – 5 years of Inventory & Quality Assurance Management experience
  • Experience with WMS Systems
  • Possess strong verbal and written communications skills; demonstrated ability to organize vast amounts of data and possess solid time management skills
  • Must be resilient, focused problem solver and self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a complex environment
  • Capable of working the entire MS Office suite, especially Excel. MS Access experience is a plus
  • Supervisory experience in a Distribution or Manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting functions and understands inventory/accounting relationships

Job Title: Assistant Fashion Designer

Mud Pie is currently seeking an Assistant Fashion Designer. This position will assist the Fashion Design team in the design and development of the Mud Pie Women’s division. This position will have exposure to all fashion piece-type categories with an emphasis on handbags, jewelry and accessories. This position will report to the Director of Fashion Design and Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Trending and market analyzation (includes current consumer and competitor research).
  • Flat sketches and Print/Pattern Design.
  • Collaborate with the Fashion Design team in design of biannual Fashion collections.
  • Execution of designs with overseas vendors through an outlined sampling and development process.
  • Collaboration with Technical Designer in creation of apparel tech packs.
  • Responsible for creation of full accessory tech packs (ie handbags, hats, jewelry, etc).
  • Maintain and manage WIP of your products.
  • Approvals for all design and production submits.
  • Support development team and sales team by preparing necessary visual tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • 1 - 4 years in a fashion design and/or graphic design role.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent organization and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain and build relationships with overseas vendors.
  • High level of creativity paired with strong understanding of the Mud Pie aesthetic.
  • Understanding of entire design and product development process.
  • Be able to work on deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to understand current fashion market and future consumer trends.
  • Organization with a dedication to details and final product quality.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Must have an advanced knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Suites particularly Illustrator.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
